Give your child a summer filled with hands-on learning, creativity, teamwork, and fun! From robotics and coding to LEGO, STEAM projects, and photography, these camps are designed to help students entering grades 1–9 learn new skills, make friends, and gain confidence in an engaging, supportive environment.

  • Full day camps: $329 early bird discount through 4/30 (regular $390)

  • Half day camps: $259 early bird discount through 4/30 (regular $320)

  • A limited number of summer camp scholarships are available. They will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis to qualifying applicants who complete bearmet.al/2026-summer-scholarship

Robotics Camp for Middle School – Full Day

Entering Grades 6–9
July 6–10
Monday–Thursday: 9:00 AM–3:00 PM
Friday: 8:30 AM–3:30 PM

Get ready for an unforgettable week of building, coding, teamwork, and competition! Our signature Bear Metal Robotics Camp returns with an all-new 2026 challenge.

Campers will work in small teams of 3–5 students, guided by a teen counselor, to design and build a robot that can play a game — then put their creation to the test in an exciting Friday competition.

Throughout the week, campers will:

  • Work collaboratively as part of a team

  • Practice creative problem-solving

  • Learn the basics of robot design and construction

  • Get introduced to programming concepts

  • Build confidence through friendly competition

  • Have fun while learning real STEM skills

Friday is competition day! Parents are invited to come cheer on the teams in person, and the event will also be live-streamed. Please note: Friday has extended hours to allow time for the competition.

Robotics Camp for Elementary School – Full Day

Entering Grades 3–5
July 13–17
Monday–Thursday: 9:00 AM–2:00 PM
Friday: 8:30 AM–3:30 PM

Perfect for young builders, thinkers, and future engineers, this exciting week introduces elementary campers to the world of robotics, teamwork, and problem-solving through our beloved Bear Metal Robotics Camp — featuring a brand-new 2026 challenge!

Campers will team up in small groups with support from a teen counselor to build a robot, learn how it works, and prepare for an exciting Friday competition.

Campers will:

  • Learn how to work as part of a team

  • Practice solving fun engineering challenges

  • Explore robot building and design

  • Get a beginner-friendly introduction to programming

  • Experience competition in a fun, supportive setting

  • Grow confidence while having a great time

Friday is the big competition day! Parents are welcome to attend, and the event will also be live-streamed. Please note: Friday has extended hours to accommodate the competition.

LEGO Explore Camp – Half Day

Entering Grades 1–3
July 20–24
Monday–Friday
Two Sessions Available:
Morning: 9:00–11:30 AM
Afternoon: 12:30–3:00 PM

Let your child’s imagination take off with a week of building, creating, and discovering through LEGO! Campers will enjoy building their own individual creations while also working together on a collaborative group project, all with support from enthusiastic high school counselors.

Campers will:

  • Explore STEM through hands-on LEGO projects

  • Practice creativity, design, and problem-solving

  • Build independently and as part of a team

  • Gain confidence while having fun

This is a great first camp experience for young learners who love to build and create.

Intro to STEAM Camp – Half Day

Entering Grades 3–5
July 20–24
Monday–Friday: 9:00–11:30 AM

Curious minds wanted! This hands-on camp is perfect for students who love to experiment, invent, build, and explore. Campers will dive into the exciting world of Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math (STEAM) through engaging activities, fun challenges, and creative projects. Each day encourages students to think like real-world problem solvers while learning how to test ideas, improve designs, and work with others.

Campers will:

  • Explore STEAM through exciting hands-on projects

  • Practice the engineering design process

  • Solve problems creatively

  • Learn through experiments and demonstrations

  • Collaborate and share ideas with peers

Bonus: Activities are different from our Explore STEAM Full Day Camp, so students are welcome to attend both for even more summer fun and learning.

Photography Camp – Half Day

Entering Grades 6–9
July 20–24
Monday–Friday: 12:30–3:00 PM

See the world in a whole new way! This creative camp gives students the chance to explore the art and skill of photography using professional-grade cameras.

Campers will learn how to take stronger, more interesting photos while building their confidence behind the camera. Through fun activities and games, they’ll practice photography skills and discover how to turn everyday moments into amazing images.

Campers will learn:

  • Camera basics and how professional cameras work

  • Photography composition and creative techniques

  • Introductory editing skills

  • How to capture great shots through fun photo challenges

Each camper will go home with:

  • Their photos on a USB drive

  • At least one printed photo to keep

A great choice for students who love art, storytelling, creativity, or technology.

Game Maker’s Coding Camp – Full Day

Entering Grades 3–5
July 27–31
Monday–Friday: 9:00 AM–2:00 PM

Turn imagination into a real game! In this exciting coding camp, students will use Microsoft MakeCode Arcade to design and build their own playable games with new 2026 challenges.

With support from high school counselors, campers will create a clicker game, build a platformer, and invent their own boss battles while learning the building blocks of coding in a fun, beginner-friendly way.

Campers will learn:

  • How coding works through game design

  • Key concepts like variables, loops, and functions

  • Problem-solving and creative thinking

  • How to bring their ideas to life through technology

Perfect for kids who love video games, creativity, and technology.

Explore STEAM Camp – Full Day

Entering Grades 3–5
July 27–31
Monday–Friday: 9:00 AM–2:00 PM

A full week of hands-on discovery, creativity, and exploration!

In Explore STEAM Camp, students will dive into a variety of exciting projects involving science experiments, engineering challenges, art activities, and more. Each day highlights a different part of STEAM, giving campers the chance to try new things, learn new skills, and build confidence along the way.

Campers will:

  • Explore science, technology, engineering, art, and math

  • Participate in creative projects and experiments

  • Build teamwork and collaboration skills

  • Learn beginner-friendly concepts used by our Bear Metal high school team members

  • Have fun while discovering new interests

Bonus: Activities are different from our Intro to STEAM Half Day Camp, so students can sign up for both camps for even more summer fun and learning..
