Subteam Spotlight: Programming

Week 3 has been off to a great start for Bear Metal. We are now in the thick of it as build season continues. After our beta bot Preliminary Design Review last week, we can move onto the next step of our robot. Our Fabrication team is starting to receive CAD designs from our design team. They are hard at work making the first official components to our robot. Once Fabrication has completed a part, it gets sent off to assembly for their part of the work.

For this week's subteam spotlight, we have the programming subteam. Programming is in charge of all the code for the robot. This means all the autos, movement, and mechanism are all coded by programing. To make sure they get started as soon as possible, we use very similar code for our swerves as previous years. They also use various simulations, to be able to test code without the need for a physical robot to program. Currently, programming is hard at work using these simulations to plan out our auto paths, and to test various code they've been working on.
