Training Members: Why we Build a Kitbot

Week one is off to a great start for Bear Metal. The team is hard at work making sure this season runs as smoothly as possible. Beginning of every build season relies heavily on the design and strategy group to create the foundation for our robot, and this year is no different. Week one here at Bear Metal is heavily focused on design to make sure the robot can get to the Fabrication team as soon as possible.

As a continuation of training into build season, we have selected members of the team to be in charge of the Bear Metal Kitbot. From design to fabrication to assembly, the Kitbot is in their hands. This is intended to be additional training for several new members and leadership training for select new members. We still want to let new members who may be less experienced get hands-on experience with robotics, giving them work to do that they otherwise wouldn’t have.
